Days of Wrath.
I know that I said I'd post some pictures, but some other things happened. So I'm blogging about it now.

I don't feel angry. I feel annoyed, irritated and ranty, but I'm not raging.

People who know me will know that I apologise to people who I feel I've wronged. If I'm pissy and I snap at you, chances are I will apologise after I cool down because it's probably not your fault.

This time, I don't think that I'm in the wrong, so I won't apologise for saying what I said.

If that post is about me, and you don't know what you did wrong, ask me. My style is confrontational. If you don't know what you did wrong, ask, I'll tell you. If you ask me properly, I'll reply you properly.

And one thing is true, I don't hold grudges.

Cosfest 2008
And so the cosplay season is over for the moment!

Wai and I were cosplaying both weekends, although only on both Sundays... We gave both Saturdays a miss.

Last week we were cosplaying with [info]ivoryfox as characters from Professor Layton and the Curious Village - Wai as Layton, Ivory as Flora/Aroma, and me as Luke. We also put together a little robot doggie as our Gizmo (but we dubbed him Rusty Springtail).

Quite a cute and simple cosplay, and there were a few people who recognised us, although I think not enough for Wai. =p

Thanks to Ivory for going mad at the last minute and putting together quite a decent Flora costume in... what, 5 hours? @__@!

And yesterday we were Sakuraba Neku and Hanekoma-san from The World Ends with You.

Cut for some angst and ramblings over this costume )

Some random thoughts from yesterday:
- omgomgomgomgomgomg my wig my stupid stupid wig.
- Am I getting sweat marks under my armpits?
- Hoho, we sold some badges.
- Yun and Dawn are full of rubbish (in a good way). Seeing them sing that ridiculous emo song decked out in MMM is hilarious.
- Ling is sooooooooooooooooooo cuteeeeeeeeee and ediiibleeeeeee.
- This is a frikkin' DGM cosfest.
- Did she just frikkin' pinch my CHEEK??
- No actually, my costume is not the wrong colour.
- PULL UP YOUR TIGHTS AND STOP SHOWING ME THE CROTCH OF YOUR STOCKINGS.
- I'm sorry to the people involved, but I really don't think the winners of WCS were deserving in comparison to some of the other costumes on stage. Actually screw that, I only saw ONE of the other costumes that was in the competition and they were robbed. Cosfest competitions make me laugh.

Pictures in my next post.

The Big Read Meme~

So is it true the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed?

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've only read 6 and force books upon them

The List without Italics )

At Changi, using free internetz
My parents decided two weeks ago that they wanted a holiday. It was supposed to be after the 7th, but I had an event on the 13th, so they decided 3 days ago that they would bring it forward. After some madcap rushing and booking of flight and hotel, here I am at Changi, heading to TOKYO! YAY!

See everyone when I get back on the morning of 7th, will try to get the internet there too. /o/

Streetfest 2008
This Streetfest would have been full of fail if not for my very cute and adorable Vocaloid team. Cosplayers were loud-hailed at, chased around, the sound system sucked, there were effed-up management team and decisions, etc.

Thanks [info]sfsakana and [info]xrysx for inviting me to be their aniisan!

I had a ton of fun with them, even though Kaito was always being bullied... OTL My favourite part of the costume was my ice creams. Lol.

Pictures later when I get some from photographers. Yes, [info]ringo_031, I mean you. :D

Voting is up!
As some of you might know, I took part in the Nana RockBand Cosplay contest organised by Nana-Nana.net and ACP.

I submitted two entries - the first is a video of Nana and Hachi, with appearances by Shoji and Sachiko, and the other a few photos from our Trapnest shoot last year (where I was Takumi).

Winner is voted by audience, and I need your votes! I just realised to my horror that each voter can only have one vote, so I'd like to concentrate my votes to the VIDEO ENTRY.

If you liked our Trapnest shoot over the video, and would like me to win the prize, please vote for the video anyway. Thanks!

Alternatively, if you do like someone else in the contest other than me, and would like to vote for them, please go ahead and let me know why too!

Kiki's Kitchen: Episode 1: Breakfast Cereal
I was looking at all my kitchen Re-Ment, and I decided to start a photo series of Kiki cooking. Hence, the extremely typical name of Kiki's Kitchen. >_>;;

It wasn't until I had finished these photos and posted them onto Flickr that Celeste told me that her little Pudding has a similar "show". So er, any resemblance is coincidental, and not meant to offend! D:

Hello everybody, welcome to Kiki's Kitchen. Say hello, Kiki.

Talia (Soom Gena)
Yes, this is my little open secret. Some people know that I had a big girl in the wings, but not many knew that she was a Soom Gena, or that she had actually already arrived. Well. Here she is.

Talia came to me sometime in December, thanks to the Soom kit sale. A bit of an impulse buy, but I'm falling in love with her more and more as I handle her. I gave her to Mel to do her beautiful faceup (she has a cute little beauty mark under her left eye!) and only got her together properly last night. Her eyelashes are super long right now. I'll keep them there for a bit to see how I like them, if they still irk me after two days I'll switch them out for something a bit shorter.

I did this meme last April, but I think there might be a few more people who I didn't know last year who'd like me to do it this year...? Hehheh.

o1 - Tell you why I friended you.
o2 - Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, a sexual position, etc. (Or, not)
o3 - Tell you something I like about you.
o4 - Tell you a memory I have of you.
o5 - Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
o6 - Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
o7 - In return, you must post this in your LJ.

Photographer needed!
If you're a photographer who's free come 19th January 2008, the Nobuta wo Produce team from EOY 2007 would REALLY appreciate it if you could come help us at our photoshoot!

Date: 19 January 2008 (Saturday)
Location: Temasek Poly and Esplanade rooftop
Time: 10am at Temasek Poly (exact location TBC)

If you're not sure what we look like as a group, [info]ivoryfox has a really good post with a ton of event photos of us here.

The shoot is at two locations because Nobuta wo Produce (Link to Crunchy Roll) is set in a school (TP), with several rooftop scenes (Esplanade). We'll be basing our shots off the actual drama, which is why we need these locations. Please buzz me on MSN/LJ if you want to know more about NwP!

Thanks in advance, guys!

TDA Thank Yous
After six months of planning, The Doll Affair is finally over, and everyone on the comm who was chewing on their nails and losing their sleep over it can finally heave a sigh of relief, pat ourselves on the back and start looking forward to next year.

When Elsie first talked about this idea back in June 2007, I gave pause to think and wonder if I could really handle such an event. After all, look at all the cosplay clubs in Singapore with all that internal strife and drama. (hemhem) After a small discussion with Mel, I decided to take the plunge, and then broached the idea to the Sparklies of us being the committee for the event.

Without the unique abilities of each and every person on the committee, we wouldn't have been able to bring TDA about. Everyone worked hard at their appointed task, everyone was responsible and trustworthy, and I was really very glad that I had this committee with me to work on TDA.

Thanks so much to my committee-

[info]night_child80, my number 2, thanks so much for your organised paperwork, for keeping me sane, for all the times when I had to rant about some nitty gritty detail in the greater plan of things.
[info]blue_meddy, door bitch, ticketing meister, thanks for keeping all of those numbers STRAIGHT. And money too! Let's go get that joint account (and exec condo~~)
[info]starsthatshine, the cutest designer ever, thanks for putting up with the countless times I had to make you redo the website, or the banner, or the EOY advert, or everything else...
[info]gothiquelolita, media savvy person, wah rau call the Chinese media down and then don't want to do the interview? =p Thanks for being excellent at your job, you really publicised the event well.
[info]erushi, booth pimp!!!, wow, to think that we thought we had problems inviting venodrs to come... We had 12 booths in total... and all of them did really well! Hooray!
[info]lavenderlilz, legal advisor, thanks for everything, and making sure we didn't land ourselves into trouble... haha.

TDA 2007 was conceptualised small, and the explosion of the crowd today really made us sit back in shock and realise that the community certainly has grown. Fortunately we had a cafe outside which provided some more space for the event goers.

One of the things that thrilled me no end was that event-goers would buy items in the hall, then come out to the cafe and change their dolls into the new outfits/wigs/etc. That was just awesome.

To that, we need to thank our wonderful vendors and sponsors,
Domuya (who sponsored our Venturo!)
Honig Doll (SO GENEROUS, even though they didn't come down!!)
Tangled Web (who also did the beautiful faceup on Leif)
VeryBerry (and etcetcetcetc)
Kstarr (sorry we had to chase you out of the hall! ;___;)
Angel.Candy-Rock (SNAP still wish I could have grabbed those clothes!!)
Hallucinog3nic Studios (Glad you girls did well and enjoyed yourselves!)
Black Angel (Hope you guys had a good sales day.)
Amethyst Collezione (Didn't really get a chance to speak to you, hope you guys did well!)
Valse du Ciel (Hey Aramaki, your hats are sooooooo cute!!!)
Secret Letters (Congrats on good sales!!)
S:thete (YOU SOLD YOUR GOLD DRESS XD XD)
Stardoll (I know it was just a display booth, but glad you guys could come!)
Kuro Rozen (Hope you guys work out the issues with the supplier soon!)
Simply J (Thanks for choosing to come down to TDA!)

The crowds who came for the event to see these sponsors were crazy, and for all the crowd control and general running around, I'd like to thank-

[info]sassystrawberry, for helping us with so many things!
[info]ivoryfox, thanks for taking the photographs! (although I haven't seen them yet, haha)
The boyfriends who had to come down because their girlfriends said so- Wai, Randall, Lester and Hanhow
The guy who had to come down because we more or less forced him to- Pete

The most thanks honestly goes to Lester and Pete, who were SO patient with the crowd and so good with the crowd control and queue. I'm really glad that I could have trusted the queue to you two to handle. Thanks so much.

But most of all, thanks to everyone on my flist who made their way down to YMCA, put up with the crowds, squeezed their way all around the hall, and spent all their money away. Thank you so much, without you guys TDA would not have been possible. Hope to see everyone next year!

With that, the TDA 2007 thanks are over... here's looking forward to 2008!

Post EOY entry
Lol, you know you're getting old when you have no stamina to post post-cosplay entries anymore.

Anyway, I was Kiritani Shuuji from Nobuta wo Produce together with a whole bunch of people. For more detailed entries please see [info]ivoryfox, [info]blue_meddy, [info]night_child80.

Wai was lovely and went around with my camera in tow, so I have about 40 pictures of us.

Here's a teaser, more available on my Flickr.

With our Nobuta planners

More available on my Flickr.

Highlights:
- our dance performance!
- Definitely, definitely, Yasu. *___*
- our encore performance!
- post-event dinner and talk cock
- our lovely lovely group looking very very wonderful together
